Every year, the Dandjoo Darbalung Program works in partnership with community and Elders to create a short film that represents the year’s NAIDOC theme.

2022: Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up

Each year, the Dandjoo Darbalung Program invites respected local Elders to share their interpretation of the years' NAIDOC theme. We hope you enjoy Change Makers, created for this year's theme, Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up.

 

2021: Nowanup

This film has been created in partnership with Eugene Eades and the Dandjoo Darbalung Program at St Catherine’s College. Students from the Dandjoo Darbalung Program and St Catherine’s College participated in a weekend On Country at Nowanup with Eugene Eades and Simon Forrest, where they heard from respected Elders about the importance of healing Country.

2020: Always Was, Always Will Be

In 2020, the theme Always Was Always Will Be was represented through interviews with Whadjuk Nyoongar Elder and Emeritus Professor Simon Forrest and Bunuba woman Rishaye Shaw. The narrative of the film was based on the notion of Always Was, Always Will be Aboriginal Land through the eyes of Aboriginal people.
