Our beautiful campus, situated close to the Swan River and picturesque Kings Park, is a blend of contemporary and classic architecture with a range of facilities that are tailored for modern living and learning.
Withnell Dining Hall
The communal dining hall is a pivotal aspect of collegiate living. Set meal times provide important opportunities for you to socialise, debate issues and eat together. You will be pleased to know that the in-house head chef and catering team will cater to every taste and dietary requirement — western, asian, vegetarian, gluten free and more!
The Big Red Slide
Based on the slide in Google's offices in Berlin, this feature of our College always elicits laughter and energy. When you need a bit of fun, the slide is the solution!
Undergraduate and Postgraduate Common Rooms and larger event rooms all provide you with spaces appropriate to your needs.
The Indigenous Access Flagship Program, Dandjoo Darbalung, has dedicated spaces for all residents to practice culture, catch-up on study, get tutoring or meet up with friends. The spaces are also the heart of Dandjoo Darbalung's two-way cultural immersion offering opprtunities to learn more about the rich culture of Australia's First Peoples.
St Catherine's College is a proud partner of Bloom, Western Australia's leading youth entrepreneurial community. Its coworking space, the BloomLab, is also located within the College and is UWA's official student innovation hub. It is an exciting and ever-changing place for young, entrepreneurial people to create, network and change the world with their innovative ideas.
In every accommodation wing there is a casual breakout space designed to make socialising fun and convenient with your closest neighbours.
Private Study Rooms
Dedicated study areas include private study rooms on every floor and group study rooms dotted about the College. You can also study in the Withnell Dining Hall between meals.
PCs linked to the UWA network and the Internet are available for all residents to use. The Computer Lab also has printing, scanning and photocopying facilities. Additionally, all residential rooms are networked with high-speed wired and wireless access to the Internet.
When you've had enough quiet time, the College has two sound-proof music rooms. Our College also has five pianos, including a Bösendorfer and a Blüthner Grand Piano, two full drum kits, music stands and adjustable music chairs.
Catcycles is a proud resident-led initiative where unwanted or discarded bicycles are revamped into usable bicycles for everyone to share. By cycling, residents are not only supporting the environment but also get their exercise and arrive at their classes, alert and energised.
St Catherine’s is designed around a series of interconnected courtyards, each with its own theme. You will find spaces to sit and dream or places to kick a footy. Fountains splash in some courtyards; a BBQ sizzles in another.
The College is lucky enough to have not one but two rooftop gardens used throughout the year for small group gatherings and larger social events. The rooftop gardens are also edible gardens, where you can access fresh herbs and vegetables all year round.
UWA Recreation and Fitness Centre
As a resident at St Catherine's, you will receive a valuable, all-inclusive UWA Sport membership, which will give you access to UWA's Recreation and Fitness Centre. Staying fit and active has never been this easy!
The modern UWA Recreation and Fitness Centre is fully equipped with everything you need for a good workout, including more than 120 cardio and resistance weight machines. You'll also have access to more than 45 group fitness classes each week, as well as indoor and outdoor courts including squash, tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, netball and indoor soccer.
Student Car Share
You don't need to have your own car as you'll have access to Student Car Share vehicles which are regularly cleaned, maintained and available on campus.
