St Catherine’s College is proud to offer the most generous accommodation scholarships on College Row, and we attract the highest achieving students through our prestigious scholarship program. We are also committed to supporting residents experiencing financial hardship with bursaries, enabling them to remain in College and complete their studies.

Scholarship applications are now closed for 2024. Scholarship applications for 2025 will open on 15 August 2024.

Please note the following:

  • To be eligible to apply for a College Scholarship you must have applied and been offered a place at St Catherine’s College.
  • Scholarships vary in size and criteria and provide a substantial discount on fees.
  • Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and are based on your entire application, including academic achievements and voluntary service.
  • Only one application is required to be completed for all scholarships.
  • Applicants who are shortlisted for Named Scholarships must be prepared for a telephone interview.

Remember, you only submit a single application, and the College assesses which scholarship or mix of scholarships you might qualify for. There's no need to apply for individual scholarships.

  • St Catherine’s College Scholars: 50% fee reduction. Highly selective, awarded for academic excellence, outstanding extracurricular achievements, commitment to community service, and capacity for leadership. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years. Open to undergraduates and postgraduates.

  • Beazley Medallist Scholarship: Full-fee scholarship for up to four years.

  • Fogarty Scholars: 50% fee reduction per year for students admitted to the UWA Fogarty program. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Winthrop Scholars: Up to 50% fee reduction per year for students admitted to the UWA Winthrop scholarship program. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) Scholars: $10,000 fee reduction for students admitted to the UWA BPhil (Hons) Program. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Lawrence Scholars: $5,000 fee reduction for students awarded a UWA Lawrence Scholarship and/or achieve an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of at least 99.90; or in the opinion of the St Catherine’s Scholarships Committee have attained other academic or outstanding achievement. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Hackett Scholarships: Up to $5,000 fee reduction. Applicants must receive a UWA Hackett Scholarship. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Shirley McLeod Scholarship: $10,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a regional female student who displays exceptional academic potential, commitment to community service and capacity for leadership. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Nye Poulsen Scholarship: $10,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a regional student who is committed to being involved in College life and who has demonstrated high financial need. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Angel Scholarship: $10,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a student who is an all-rounder and who has demonstrated high financial need. One year, renewable on successful annual application for up to four years.

  • Jean Rogerson Scholarship: $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a returning student who displays high academic achievement and contribution to the life of the College. For one year only.

  • Joyce Riley Scholarship: $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a postgraduate student who displays high academic achievement and contribution to the life of the College. For one year only.

  • ME Wood Scholarship: $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a returning student who displays high academic achievement and contribution to the life of the College. For one year only.

  • Graduate Women Scholarship: Up to $8,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a female resident who displays outstanding academic potential and commitment to community service. For one year only.

  • Elizabeth Constable Scholarship: $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to a student who displays outstanding academic potential and offers an all-round contribution to the College. For one year only.

  • Leah Cohen Scholarship: Up to $5,000. Awarded to a student who identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and demonstrates high academic potential. For one year only.

  • Shirley Majors Scholarship: Up to $5,000. Awarded to a student who identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and demonstrates high academic potential. For one year only.

  • Faculty Specific Scholarship: Up to $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to successful applicants studying Medicine, Engineering, Maths or Law. For one year only.

  • Sports Excellence Scholarship: Up to $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to successful applicants with high academic achievement admitted to their university’s elite sports program. For one year only.

  • Excellence in Music and the Arts Scholarship: Up to $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to successful applicants with high academic achievement studying or demonstrating ongoing outstanding achievement in music or the applied arts. For one year only.

  • Wendy MacGibbon Scholarship: $10,000 fee reduction. Awarded to an undergraduate resident who displays the potential for personal achievement both in academic pursuits and in being a good global citizen. One year, renewable on successful application for up to four years.

Academic Excellence (Domestic)

  • St Catherine’s College Scholars: 50% fee reduction. Regional Schools (Domestic)

  • Regional Schools Scholarship of $1,000 for residents accepted at any WA University with an ATAR of 90 and above. These scholarships are limited. (For one year only). 

Leadership, Sport or Art (Domestic)

  • Enid Russell Scholarship of $5,000 for a resident accepted at any WA University (For one year only).    

  • College Residential Art or Sport Scholarships of up to $2,000 for residents who display the potential for high sport or artistic achievement at any WA university (For one year only).

  • Sports Excellence Scholarship: up to $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to successful applicants with high academic achievement admitted to their university’s elite sports program. For one year only.

  • Excellence in Music and the Arts Scholarship: up to $5,000 fee reduction. Awarded to successful applicants with high academic achievement studying or demonstrating ongoing outstanding achievement in music or the applied arts. For one year only.

Financial Hardship (Domestic)

  • St Catherine’s College Access Scholarship of up to $10,000 for residents experiencing financial hardship who display academic potential (For one year only). These scholarships are limited so please apply as soon as possible.

  • Various Scholarships of $4,000- $10,000 for residents experiencing financial hardship who display academic potential (For one year only).

  • Nye Polson Scholarship of $10,000 for a resident experiencing financial hardship who displays academic potential enrolled at any WA University (Multiyear for the duration of your consecutive studies).

  • Fairway Scholarship of $2,000 for residents experiencing financial hardship who display academic potential and an undergraduate recipient of the UWA Alumni Fairway (For one year only).

Indigenous Access (Domestic)

  • Leah Cohen Scholarship of up to $5,000 (For one year only)

  • Shirley and Norm Majors Scholarship of up to $5,000 (For one year only)

Postgraduate (Domestic)

  • St Catherine’s College Postgraduate Scholarships of up to $5,000 for residents accepted at any WA University with a minimum GPA of 6.5. These scholarships are limited. (For one year only).   

GAMSAT (Domestic)

  • GradReady are offering one St Catherine’s resident wishing to study Medicine, the opportunity to undertake the GAMSAT® Preparation Course free of charge upon successful application.

  • GradReady is an education technology company aimed at making learning more effective and engaging. GradReady has helped over 6000 students prepare for the GAMSAT® exam since 2010. Their students have improved by an average of 24 percentile points and 90%+ have achieved medical school admissions.

Academic Excellence (International)

  • Graduate Women Scholarship of up to $4,000 for female residents who display academic potential (For one year only).

  • Faculty Specific scholarships of up to $2,500 for residents studying Medicine, Engineering or Law (For one year only).

Leadership, Sport or Art (International)

  • Enid Russell Scholarship of $5,000 for a resident accepted at any WA University (For one year only).   

  • College Residential Art or Sport Scholarships of $2,000 for residents who display the potential for high sport or artistic achievement at any WA university (For one year only).

Financial Hardship (International)

  • St Catherine’s College Access Scholarship of up to $10,000 for residents experiencing financial hardship who display academic potential (For one year only).

  • St Catherine’s College Exchange Scholarships value of up to $5,000 for the duration of one year of exchange studies.

  • St Catherine’s College Postgraduate Scholarship of up to $5,000 for residents accepted at any WA University with a minimum GPA of 6.5. These scholarships are limited and highly competitive. (For one year only.)
