Information for New and Returning Residents in Semester 2, 2017
Welcome to St Catherine's College! As you take your first step on this new adventure, we understand there is a lot to get your head around before university classes even start. Don't worry, we're here to help! On this page, you'll find everything you need to know prior to your arrival.
Complete admissions and contract documentation
Please ensure your admissions and contract documentation is complete, submitted and processed prior to your arrival. You will not be granted access to your room until all documentation is complete, submitted and processed.
What to bring
Both our Single Rooms and Studio Rooms are fully furnished. You just need to bring your own linen, towels, coat hangers, and anything else you need to make your room home. If you are in a Studio Room, please note that you will need to bring your own crockery.
Refer to this page on our website if you are unsure of what's included or available in your room.
Contract Start Dates
When does your contract start?
Studio Room: Sunday, 9 July 2017
Single Room: Sunday, 9 July 2017
The best way to get to St Catherine's is via our 2 Park Road entrance. We have two car parks, one at our 2 Park Road entrance and another on Stirling Highway, but please be aware that traffic will be busy. Local council street parking is available as an alternative.
If you are arriving before or after your contract start date:
You must advise the College if you intend to arrive any time before or after Sunday, 9 July 2017. If this hasn't been arranged and confirmed prior to your arrival, you will not be granted access to your room.
UWA offers a free 24-hour airport pick-up service for all study abroad/international students who are studying at UWA for the first time. The service includes being met at Perth Airport (International or Domestic Terminal) and taken to St Catherine's. For more information and to book this service, please click here.
If you are not able to register in time for the UWA service, please contact Gavin Grobler at Green Energy Limousines, +61 42 55 417 55, firstname.lastname@example.org. Gavin runs a private pick-up service and provides excellent service at any hour of the day. Please quote St Catherine’s College to qualify for a special rate.
There are a number of ways that the College communicates important information to residents:
Every Sunday morning, residents will receive a copy of the Weekly Bulletin. This keeps you up to date with what's going on around the College.
Before your arrival to St Catherine's, please make sure that the email address that is reflected in your resident profile on the Resident Portal is current.
St Catherine's officially maintains a number of accounts across various social media platforms as an alternative mode of communication to residents. Please add yourself to our private Resident Groups before your arrival to St Catherine's:
You can also like or follow us on our public social media channels:
The College community is advised to adhere to the College’s and UWA’s Social Media Policy, Guidelines and Standards.
We encourage residents to share their experiences of life at St Catherine's. When you tag your public posts with #stcatscollege, we can engage with you and share content with others.
St Catherine's has won the inter-college sports Overall Championship Cup for the past two years. In 2015, we also won the Women's Championship Cup, and in 2016, the Men's Championship Cup and inaugural Spirit Cup.
Play your part and help us win the various inter-college sports cups again this year!
We pride ourselves on being a very supportive College and we always attend all sporting events in large numbers, which makes the experience so much more enjoyable for our athletes and spectators alike.
